Currently, the governor of the State is His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma. Imo state has two state owned University, namely: Imo state university (IMSU) and University of Agriculture Umuagwo. One state polytechnics, namely: Imo state polytechnic Omuma currently closed. The popular music in Imo is High life music.
